Ylva MacDowall Hayler (born in 1973) graduated from the University of Uppsala with a master of laws degree (LLM) in 1997.  Ms. Hayler also studied maritime law at the University of Oslo, where she wrote a comparative essay about ”lien on subfreights”. As a supplement to her legal education, she has studied micro- and macro economics, and financial reporting and analysis at the Norwegian Business School BI. 

Before joining Nordisk in 2012, Ms. Hayler worked five years in the Norwegian law firm Schjødt’s Banking and Finance department, and thereafter six years as an in–house lawyer in Nordea Bank Norge ASA, where she was inter alia responsible for the legal services provided to the shipping department. She is therefore particularly experienced in project financing of vessels and rigs, corporate financing of shipowning companies, syndication, restructuring, guarantees, and general contract law. Given this background, Ms. Hayler also has a natural interest in sale and purchase of vessels and rigs, newbuilding contracts and charter parties.
