As in the past, Bergen proved to be a great venue for the AGM and related activities. The attendance at the seminar, dinner and other events was at a record level. The city of Bergen and surroundings provided a wonderful setting for various activities including golf and an eagle safari. Our foreign visitors were particularly pleased with the experience, both with and without the traditional rainfall.
A short recap:
General Meeting Mr. Terje Sørensen (Siem Offshore), Trygve Seglem (Knutsen OAS) and Hans Petter Jebsen, (Jebsen Asset Management) were elected as new members of the board. Rolf Westfal-Larsen, Alex Wilhelmsen and Mons S. Aase stepped down from the board this year. Rolf Westfal-Larsen deserves special thanks for his dedicated service for the past 18 years, serving as Vice-Chairman throughout most of his tenure.
SeminarTrue to tradition, this year’s seminar contained two mock arbitration sessions, one concerning claims for damages in connection with late redelivery under time charters (including penalty clauses), and the other involving COA and voyage charter issues arising in the aftermath of an offshore oil spill. Lasse Brautaset also provided an overview of recent developments in the environmental area.
Dinners
The AGM dinner was held at Grand Selskapslokaler in a traditional formal setting. The so-called Golf Dinner was about as far removed from the golf course as possible at Ulriken’s fantastic restaurant “sky:skraperen”. The view was magnificent - as was the sunset.
Golf Tournament
The golfers had a long, but fun day at the demanding course at Meland Golf Club. To paraphrase a famous football player. "Golf at Meland is a simple game over 18 holes lasting 6 hours and in the end someone from Bergen wins." This year the Nordisk Cup was clinched by Arnt Stensen from Utkilen. The rest of the golfers did not have too much to brag about, except their new trousers shipped direct from China for the occasion. See photo. Those wishing to partake in other activities (or otherwise wishing to avoid being photographed in new trousers) went on a successful eagle safari. Yes the eagles were spotted on the occasion.

Thanks to all the members and friends of Nordisk who shared their time with us in Bergen. We look forward to seeing you again in Oslo next year!
