Our Annual General Meeting and related events will take place in Bergen, Norway on 26 and 27 May 2010.
Accommodation has been reserved at Radisson SAS Royal Hotel Bryggen, located on the waterfront in idyllic and historic surroundings. The hotel will also be the venue for the seminar and the Annual General Meeting.
WEDNESDAY 26 MAY The AGM Golf tournament will be held at Meland Golf Club, an 18 hole golf course situated 36 km north of Bergen in a beautiful fjord setting.
For non-golfers we are planning a sea eagle safari, an approx 5 hours trip. The sea eagle safari includes a 10 minute walk in easy terrain, one hour at the sea and a visit to Nordsjømuseet in Televåg. Appropriate clothing for outdoor activities is essential.
In the evening there will be a joint dinner at Ulriken. We will travel by gondola to the restaurant, Skyskraper, perched on the mountain above Bergen.
THURSDAY 27 MAY
Our traditional seminar starts at 09:00. The tentative agenda includes:
- Traditional mock arbitrations dealing with charter party issues.
- Presentation on environmental issues: “An overview of requirements coming our way."
Following the seminar, lunch will be served.
For those who wish to participate in the formal AGM, the meeting convenes at 14.00 and is scheduled to last for about one hour.
For accompanying guests we are planning a trip to Troldhaugen - the Home of the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. On our way back we will also visit Fantoft Stave Church. The trip will be rounded off with lunch at Bryggen Tracteursted located in the centre of Bergen.
The AGM dinner will take place at Grand Selskapslokaler in the centre of Bergen.
A formal invitation with a more detailed programme, registration form etc. will be distributed in March/April.
